WEST NANTMEAL TOWNSHIP HISTORICAL COMMISSION
Invites you to visit on Saturday Sept. 23, 2017.
1.To attend the dedication ceremony (11:00AM) for a plaque and monument honoring the crew and pilot of a B-24 Bomber, who crashed in our township, during a training mission, in WWII.
2. To enjoy viewing WWII uniforms and personal memorabilia of Chester County servicemen, presented by Bob Ford, who will be sharing their stories. Also on display will be artifacts recovered from the crash, original maps, drawings, etc.
3. To support us in our fundraiser (5/10K run) to re-build the longest, continuous, hand-built dry wall in the country. (Generously financed, originally, by William Potts who wanted to keep his furnace workers employed even when the Isabella Furnace was no longer in operation)
4. To have a fun day with your family at our community day, 9:00-3:00 (www.westnantmeal.com)
Runners or walkers interested in participating in our 5/10K RUN can access information and a registration form at: www.pretzelcitysports.com.
The course takes you by several ponds, along the gently flowing Perkins run, and past historic stone homes and walls. The 10K continues on past the historic Isabella Furnace (with current wall restoration), across century old stone bridges crisscrossing the Brandywine, with rolling hills and picturesque views.
Individuals or Families interested in an enjoyable day in beautiful NW Chester County.
